A new trail

A new trail

An agility friend of mine suggested I check another park in the area.  It’s very nice, and not only are the trails are well identified, I almost didn’t get lost.  For me, that’s a first.  Here are a few pictures…

We’re about mid-way to our surprise discovery.

Mmmm.  Jasmine is wondering what this strange sculpture is?

Fannie figured out that it’s where picnic tables go to hibernate every Winter. ; )

This was the little surprise.  A great view of the “Fleuve St-Laurent” or St. Laurence River.  Allow me to get sidetracked here.  In French, a river which flows in an ocean is called a “fleuve”.  Personally, I think the word gives it a sense of majesty, y’know?

Anyways, both dogs found a path that lead to a mini-micro beach.  I actually took the time to film them both being silly in the water.  To my great surprise, Jasmine was the brave one and trotted eagerly in.  Fannie was a bit more cautious, as you can see from this photograph.

We all enjoyed our walk and rest assured, more picture will follow of this great place.

About The adventures of the piano keys

Hello there, A few years ago, I adopted a little white fluffy dog who I named Jasmine. Like any good intentioned dog owner, I registered for dog obedience classes. Little did I know how these lessons would go on to introducing me to the wonderful world of dog sports. Since then, Jasmine has participated in agility, flyball, and rally obedience events. We don’t expect to make any world team, but we love the training, competing, and most of, the chance of spending time together and having fun. In February 2011, I adopted a second dog, Fannie. This blog is a journal of our activities. Sit back, put your feet up, and I hope I can tease a smile out of you with our antics.

  1. That really looks like a nice place. Next year we should find a state park across the border from Cornwall. We could start and end the trip at your place.

  2. Lisa says:

Hey, I learned something new today – fleuve. You are a “fountain” of information!

Hey yeah, I have a passport now and want to use it!

  3. Oh as for the french word, when I took my French course and they were explaining fleuve to us all, the teachers said the only one they knew about was the Saint Lawrence. So I want to know why aren’t the Mississippi or the Amazon also called a fleuve?
