Skateboard

Here is the beginning of the skateboard trick training.  My original plan was to upload the handstand training video as well.  Unfortunately, the amateur videographer that I am cut their hind legs out of the shot.  You’ll have to settle with my dogs’ skateboarding abilities.

Both Jasmine and Fannie have already done some training on the skateboard, about four to five sessions for Jazz, and one or two for Fannie.   That was a looooong time ago, last Winter I believe.  I’m not following any methods, except shaping the behavior as much as I can.  I started to ask them to hop on the board, as I would keep one foot on it to keep it stable.  I’ve only started to move the board today.

Enjoy the video, and I apologise in advance for my clothes.  It’s my “stay at home and train the dogs” fashion sense at work, and thankfully, not many people see me dressed like this.  Until today that is.

About The adventures of the piano keys

Hello there, A few years ago, I adopted a little white fluffy dog who I named Jasmine. Like any good intentioned dog owner, I registered for dog obedience classes. Little did I know how these lessons would go on to introducing me to the wonderful world of dog sports. Since then, Jasmine has participated in agility, flyball, and rally obedience events. We don’t expect to make any world team, but we love the training, competing, and most of, the chance of spending time together and having fun. In February 2011, I adopted a second dog, Fannie. This blog is a journal of our activities. Sit back, put your feet up, and I hope I can tease a smile out of you with our antics.
